After two days of Golfing, Split by a game of cards and a bizzare dance around the snooker table, i can bet you are all wanting to know if your handicap was slashed. Below is an overview of how your society handicap has been adjusted over the two days

The meeting was well attended last night thank you.

Next year we will be erecting a Tannoy system in the car park for those who
cannot squeeze into the clubhouse.

Items that everyone agreed on:

1) No formal committee

2) Membership will cost £10 annually. This is only a loan until the
end of our golf year (Nov – Oct) or until we play the club championship,
where it will be taken as the player’s entry to that venue’s sweep. Should
they not attend it will be carried over to the following year as a
subscription.

3) Membership entitles the player to a £5 discount on all venues
unless stated.

4) Players can only come as visitors once and will not be eligible to
win the day.

5) We will try to play 8 venues through the year, but members may want
to fit other venues in and send out an invite.

6) We will keep the venues we play to within 1h radius of Wetherby.

7) Handicaps….we will be running 2 systems side by side this year.
The computerised system will be administered by Ashley Kozaczek? And the
other tried and tested method of throttling into agreement …by Stuart
Leighton.

Main Trophies will be awarded at the last venue where we hope to
have an evening meal and presentation.

9) New golfers to the society shall play off max 24 handicap unless
they advise less or have a current club handicap.

10) The society shall TRY and play to the R&A rules at all times, if a
players sees another player, can the said player advise in a nice way, of
the other players mistake. We wish to approach it this way as to make our
society FRIENDLY x.

11) Society General Rules,

a) No retaliation when Stuarts choking you.

b) NO gimmes only on WINTER GREENS these are to be within a standard
putter’s length from the hole.

c) If after taking a shot a player loses or thinks he may not find his
ball a Provisional ball MUST be played. If the player does not and cannot
find his ball be must drop a ball as near as he thinks to where his ball
came down (this is penalty for distance) he must then add another shot (this
is for stoke) and then play his next shot (for an extra shot) if you don’t
understand this just ask or refer to rule (a)

d) All golfers must read the “Local rules” board on the course before
starting a game.

e) Preferred lies only apply on the fairway.

f) If any of the society rules are not understood refer to rule (a).

g) All players MUST swap cards and not mark their own card before playing

We have 2 Main Trophies, The Holey Moley which Ben Richards holds at the
moment, we also have a Mounted Putter which we think Lance Holds? (Could you
let me know Lance?). If anyone has any Trophies they wish to Donate we are
looking for another 2, nice Old ones if possible.

An annual knockout is to be played, we could do with a trophy for this as
well? Donations will save us buying them.

A “WSA GOLF” notice board is to be erected in the clubhouse foyer.

I have attached a membership form and will drop some at the clubhouse,
please fill them in and leave in an envelope behind the bar or bring them
filled in with £10 cash to Romanby.

Please bring cash only to pay for venues as cheques or cheque cards make it
difficult.

Course Suggestions Page – to submit a course suggestion, maybe somewhere you have played and like, remember we are not rich so a week at the Belfry might be a little steep for a few.

Handicap Scores – we can name and shame the bandits

League Table – Can have similar to F1 with a points for position kind of system perhaps but average it out at the end of the year for a prize maybe?
